  3. Avoid eating large portions

  5. Avoid lying down after eating
  6. Maintain stable body weight
  7. Avoid smoking and consuming alcohol
  8. Avoid foods that can irritate the stomach, such as fatty, spicy, acidic foods.
  9. Do not take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as aspirin and ibuprofen without a doctor's advice
  10. It is recommended to eat foods that reduce stomach acid.


Foods that reduce stomach acid

The following are several foods that function to reduce the symptoms of stomach acid, including:

  • Vegetables. Such as broccoli, asparagus, cauliflower, potatoes, cucumbers and other green leafy vegetables.
  • Ginger. Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties which are believed to be a natural treatment for acid reflux, stomach ulcers and other digestive problems.
  • Banana. Some non-citrus fruits such as bananas are good foods for stomach acid sufferers, because they are fruits that reduce stomach acid.
  • Egg whites. Egg whites are a good food choice for stomach acid sufferers. It is different from egg yolks because egg yolks contain quite a lot of fat and can trigger symptoms of stomach acid reflux.
  • Yogurt. Sometimes stomach acid sufferers avoid consuming yoghurt because they are afraid it will make stomach acid worse, but yoghurt actually has a good effect for stomach acid sufferers because it has been fermented.
