To keep your face bright and fresh, you should start taking facial skin care from an early age or from the age of 25. If facial skin is not cared for, signs of skin damage will appear, including the appearance of blackheads and acne, large pores, dry skin, wrinkled skin, dark spots/spots (melasma), and even skin warts, signs of aging.
Factors That Influence Skin Health
Everyone has a different skin type. Some people may be naturally better able to achieve a glowing facial appearance than others, this can be caused by various factors, namely:
- Genetics: A person is more likely to have dry or dull skin due to their genes. Some dry skin conditions, such as atopic dermatitis, are also related to genetics.
- Hormones: Fluctuations in hormone levels can trigger acne breakouts and change how oily or dry a person's skin is. This applies to all genders, especially during puberty, pregnancy, and menopause.
- Health conditions and medications: If a person has other underlying health conditions, or is taking medication, this can impact the health of their skin. For example, hormonal contraceptives can have a positive or negative influence.
- Environment: Sun exposure, extreme temperatures, dry air, tobacco smoke, and pollution can all negatively impact the skin.
- Behavior: Drinking water intake, diet, sleep, stress, and exercise can affect skin health. The products a person uses on their skin can also help or hinder skin health.
Facial Skin Care to Stay Healthy and Glowing
To keep their face healthy and looking glowing, many people are starting to try to care for their face with skin care products. The Academy of American Dermatology (AAD) states that skin care does not have to be complicated or expensive. Facial skin care can start from a simple routine consisting of cleansing, moisturizing, and sun protection.
a. Clean your face
Clean the skin when you wake up, before going to bed, and after sweating. Use warm water, not cold or hot water, and pat the skin dry with a clean towel. Choose a facial cleansing product that can help remove dirt, makeup and excess oil from the skin. When choosing a cleanser, look for one that is gentle, pH balanced, and does not contain chemicals or harsh soaps.
b. Using moisturizer
Moisturizer functions to add water to the skin. For best results, it is recommended to use moisturizer immediately after cleansing your face, with the aim of retaining moisture in the skin. People with oily skin types can choose oil-free moisturizers, while people with dry skin can choose moisturizers that contain oil.
c. Protection from sunlight
Sunlight contains UV rays which can cause burning, sun damage, and signs of aging. Using a sunscreen product /SPF (Sun Protection Factor) before leaving the house is an easy way to protect your skin from exposure to ultraviolet B rays. When choosing an SPF product, look for a product that has a broad spectrum, SPF 30 or higher and is suitable for your skin type. owned. Apply sunscreen to all exposed areas of skin, including around the eyes and neck. When the sun is hot, stay in the shade or use a hat or umbrella to cover your scalp.
